HAND POURED CANDLE MANUFACTURING (2013-CURRENT)
Our members are raising funds to send six Motel resident children to a one-day trip to Disneyland in June 2015. Members have been raising money through recycling drives, garage sales, and sales of hand-poured votive candles. The Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim has been an enthusiastic partner in promoting the project and identifying the needy youngsters. On June 7, 2015, Hope Club student leaders selected 6 recipients based on the criteria that they come from a low income family, that he has never been to Disneyland, and that this vacation may significantly bolster their happiness. For the Disney trip there will be 6 recipients, 6 chaperones, and one adult supervisor. This trip is estimated to cost $1700~$1900 (6 tickets + meals + 6 souvenir allowance + 7 chaperone tickets). Our members have already met this goal and are continuing their fundraising efforts to send 10 more children to Disneyland in 2016. In the last four months, our members have raised over $3000 in candle sales alone.
