NORTH KOREAN ADOPTION ACT OF 2010 – 2012 (H.R. BILL 1464)
From 2010 to 2012 our members organized groups of some three hundred students to write thousands of letters to their state and district legislatures asking them to pass the House Resolution Bill to allow American adoption of North Korean orphans. Our members organized petition signing events to collect over 30,000 petition signatures in front of markets, in shopping malls, and in local churches. They also made public presentations in front of audiences to let them know why this bill was important. All their efforts proved fruitful when the bill was passed in 2012. For most of our youth members, this was the first time they had ever spoken in public to influence adults, not to mention taking on a project that effected a real change in the society.
